How it works

There are a many factors behind the success of a top ranking website in a search engine. Most of these factors have never been confirmed by search engines but experts have composed their own list with these factors which is believed that is really close to the real but never-revealed list.

One of the most important factors is link building. In other words, when a website has a lot of links pointing to it, Search Engines believe that this website is really important and famous to the web and hence they assign good credit to it. What needs to be highlighted here is that the anchor text, i.e. the clickable part of a link, is also important as the Search Engine tries to match this text with the keywords a web surfer is looking for. There are basically three ways to start setting up your links network.

Method 1: Send an email to webmasters and kindly ask them to add a link for you. It is really hard to find webmasters that will add your link to their website for free, but this is never impossible.

Method 2: Pay to have your link added to a website or web directory. There are many webmasters that will add your link if you pay them. If you can really afford this then go for it.

Method 3: Reciprocal linking. This is the most famous method and usually it comes for free. In this method you contact a webmaster and you ask to have your link added to his/her website and in exchange you add back a link to his/her website.

What you really have to do is to register (it’s free!) to our network, enter a short title, description and the URL for your website and finally add a piece of code to your website. This code is the core of the whole idea behind IndexGuy. The code will generate a links directory to your website with all the IndexGuy members’ website. Whenever a new member joins the network a new directory is being launched into the web and hence the network is becoming bigger an bigger. As new members join your website will appear to their website too, building in this way a huge links network.

From a technical view, IndexGuy is based on the client-server technology. Each member of the IndexGuy network is a client. Whenever a member's links-section is requested by the visitor or the Search Engine Spider, the website is connected with the help of the provided snippet to the IndexGuy server where the current Network Status is being transmitted through an HTTP request. When acknowledgement is received, this is rendered by the visitor's browser and displayed accordingly. Hence, the links-section is always up-to-date.

What we haven’t mentioned so far is the difference between reciprocal linking and one-way links. When a search engine is detects a link, before assigning the credit, it performs a two-way check to see if the linking is one-way or not. Although in both cases the credit given is really good it is known that one-way linking it is considered to be much more effective.
